Tortelli is our little pasta shop and Alimentari in Carroll Gardens. It’s a place built around friendship, family, and a love for fresh pasta.
The idea started with Chef Silvia Barban Chef and Owner of Larina Pastificio e Vino, Briscola Trattoria and James Mather, an NYC restaurant veteran from spots like Lupa, Roman’s, Maialino, Lilia, and Misipasta. They met years ago at LaRina and dreamed about opening a shop of their own.
Fast forward to last year—Silvia met Vinny Ruggiero, owner of Mozz Lab, and found out not only did he share the same dream, but they were actually long-lost cousins from Calabria.
We make fresh pasta every day, if you stop by you’ll see us hand rolling pasta from our small window. We also make sauces and tiramisu in-house, and stock the shelves with Italian wines, salumi, dairy products and Italian pantry excellences.
Whether you stop by for a plate of pasta or to take some home, Tortelli is all about bringing a bit of Italy—and a lot of heart—to Brooklyn.
